It also has a small footprint package and LED drive capability with the Infineon CY8CMBR2xxx series, which eliminates the tuning process and compensates for environmental changes during runtime and the capability to have 15μA per button in run mode.

CAPSENSE™ Capacitive Touch Sensing Controller

Infineon Technologies CAPSENSE™ Express Capacitive Touch Sensing Controller solutions simplify button replacement by eliminating unnecessary software tools, firmware development, device programming, and system tuning. Infineon CAPSENSE Express delivers a register configurable device that does not require firmware or device coding and is enabled with the Infineon SmartSense Auto-Tuning algorithm, eliminating the need to tune the user interface manually. The controller supports ten capacitive sensing buttons and 10 GPOs. Unregulated battery operation is available due to a voltage range of 1.71 to 5.5V and ultra-low power consumption in both run and sleep modes. Additional features include noise immunity to radiated and conducted noise and flanking sensor suppression to maintain robust sensing while using closely spaced buttons.
