Supercapacitors

KEMET Supercapacitors are designed for high-energy storage applications and consist of four basic form factors: molded, chip, can, and radial through-hole. These superconductors offer rapid charging/discharging within seconds, open failure mode to eliminate short circuits, easy installation with automatic mounting, and pick-and-place capability. KEMET Supercapacitors approach infinite charge/discharge cycles with very little deterioration of capacitance or cycle life and are maintenance-free. Typical applications include a real-time clock, energy harvesting, test equipment, and industrial control.

Transportation Solutions

KEMET Transportation Solutions feature automotive components that are designed with safer failure mechanisms and are industry standard qualified, including AEC-Q200 and VW AUDI 80808. These solutions have been proven on the road and in the KEMET lab, enabling safer, more efficient, and smarter vehicles. FG Supercapacitors

KEMET FG Supercapacitors, also known as Electric Double-Layer Capacitors (EDLCs), are intended for high-energy storage applications. These supercapacitors offer a wide operating temperature range from -25°C to +70°C (FG & FGH types) and -40°C to +85°C (FGR type). The FG series operates in 3.5VDC and 5.5VDC voltages and offers high reliability against liquid leakage. These capacitors are maintenance-free, lead-free, and RoHS-compliant. KEMET FG Supercapacitors are ideal for the secondary battery in a DC circuit and low-voltage DC hold-up, such as embedded microprocessor systems with flash memory.
